son of Minos in Greek mythology
Eurymedon
Eurymedon is one of the sons of Minos and the nymph Paria (or of Paros) in Greek mythology. His story is tied to the island of Paros and to a visit by Heracles.
The myth
Minos and Paria had four sons: Eurymedon, Nephalion, Chryses and Philolaos, who lived on the island of Paros. According to the tale, when Heracles stopped there during his quest for the girdle of Hippolyta, two of his companions were killed by Minos' sons as they went ashore.
Heracles killed all four brothers and laid siege to the rest of the islanders. To lift the siege he demanded two men to replace the dead: Alkaios and Sthenelos, sons of Androgeos, another son of Minos.
